Peter Sellars and Bill Viola collaborate on a new production of Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde

The Tristan Project, “visually reimagined for the 21st century” by Peter Sellars and Bill Viola, will make its U.S. premiere at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles in mid-April. It will appear at New York’s Lincoln Center in the first week of May. Reviewing the performances at the Opera Bastille, in Paris, The New Yorker’s Alex Ross said “leave it to director Peter Sellars to make ‘Tristan’ mind-bending once again…[I] came away in something like a state of dazed bliss.”
